Richard Abel was my cousin Sue's husband for over 50 years. I attended his Celebration of Life on Saturday and I wanted to remember the experience. Here is what I made to help me.
As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun.
Well, time just flies for me.
I thought when I retired I would have all this extra time to do all of the things I have always wanted to do, but I think I have less time now. The hardest part is when I look forward to an event, prepare for the event and before I know it, I am driving home from the event. It can be so disappointing.
I ask my friends about this and most of them say yes - time goes quickly, but I wasn’t satisfied with that answer and along the way, I discovered how to make movies on my iPhone that make my special days feel longer.
I have always enjoyed taking pictures. Back in the day when I took Photo Journalism 101 at KU, I truly fell in love with photos and took pictures sparingly because I had to process the film and print the pictures. Then I bought a camera and film and took the film to a drug store where they did the processing. That went on for years. And, now I have an iPhone that takes video and pictures and I can make little movies about my day.
It is truly amazing!!!!
When I get home from an event, I can sit down and look over the pictures and movies that I have taken that day and create a movie memory. When I want to look back at a movie memory it just makes it so much easier to review my day in a movie format. I like how it combines videos, still pictures with music in the background.
It helps me remember the day a bit longer and enjoy the experience for a few more hours.
I see the kids doing little movies on Tik Tok and Instagram and I get it.
They say as you get older you can remember events from your childhood, but you can’t remember yesterday.
Now, I hope to remember yesterday a bit better and longer.
Sweet and beautiful memory❤️
